Hello and welcome to our site, we’re Al and Connie Marney and we own and operate A.C. Marney Imaging in Freeport, IL. We’ve been in the Freeport studio since 2020, but in business since 2009. Since starting out we’ve done many different types of photography, but today we do primarily portraits and professional headshots.
Our business is one that was born out of my interest in photography, gadgets, computers, and the happiness it brings when we can make someone smile, laugh, or even cry because we’ve evoked such emotion from them over how they feel about their pictures, their family, or themselves. I never understood the power of pictures when I was younger, but I do now.
I learned photography about thirty years ago as a detective doing crime scene photographs with 35mm film. In later years I wrote and presented training on crime scene photography to others within the department where I worked. I learned about computers, lighting, and retouching, but it wasn’t until some time later that I learned about expressions, body language, and emotion, and realized that those are the things that really make a great image.
We’ve invested a lot of time and energy into learning and creating and we know that our work is top notch, and our service is second to none. Our main priority is to provide you with the best experience, products, and service that we can. Making sure that we do that is important to us.
